Luce Géas is an acclaimed French artist and academic celebrated for her vibrant, sun-saturated landscapes of Provence and the Mediterranean coast. Born in Southern France, she achieved elite academic success at the Sorbonne and later served as a long-time lecturer at the London School of Economics. Painting from her studio in Chelsea, London, Géas uses a bold palette of rich ochres, deep blues, and textured brushstrokes to capture the emotional essence of Mediterranean light rather than a realistic copy. Her humanitarian spirit led to a long-standing partnership with UNICEF, which has selected 11 of her landscape paintings to be published globally on greeting cards. Her expressive works have been exhibited internationally in major art capitals like Paris, London, and Washington D.C. In recognition of her distinguished dual career in education and the arts, she was awarded France’s highest civilian distinction, the Légion d’Honneur, in 2010.
