Description
A pair of his and hers reclining armchairs attributed to Philip Speakman Webb (1831-1915). Ash frames with reclining seats upholstered in chestnut leather. Chairs recline to tow positions by means of wooden pegs. Original ceramic casters.
Together with William Morris, Philip Webb is considered to be a father of the Arts & Crafts movement. Famous for his unconventional manor country homes, Webb also designed furniture, wallpaper, tapestries and stained glass.
