A Mid 19th century bronze sculpture of a standing Lion by Francois Auguste Hippolyte (French, 1856-1929) the brother in law of Rosa Bonheur and founder of the Bonheur Bronzes. Excellent hand chased detail and rich green patination. Set over a naturalistic rocky base. Signed H. Peyrol to base.
